Default 2013 Water Pump Issue

For whatever reason, the search function was not working for me, kept popping errors so I'm just going to post. Basically my 2013 is having water pump issues. I can hear the chirping/whistling. It started when I could only hear it at idle, now at slow speeds in parking lots etc, I can hear it. Its getting ridiculous. So I have an appointment at the dealership this coming Friday. I basically told the guy, I have chirping/whistling in the engine compartment. Did a few searches and found videos of people with the same noises who had to get their water pumps replaced, so that's what I need.

Hoping this goes smoothly, also hoping for a rental car...Really annoyed that this is happening to a brand new vehicle.

Someone give me some positive news about this or something, its really bugging me that this isn't at least a recall....F***ing Chrysler.

How is there not a recall for the pump? Are they replacing it with a different pump or is there a chance I'm going to encounter the same issue with the new one....

Got mine changed about 3 weeks ago. Same "Wee-Wee-Wee" sound. Started out at idle, then it just got really loud. I was told by the dealer that it's the bearings in the pump. No more sound. Mine is a 2012 with 11k on it. I was pretty upset too. Now my steering wheel vibrates at idle a bit, i think the belts are on too tight. Also check your radiator fluid before you leave the dealer lot. Mine was missing 1/4 of a gallon in the over fill bottle. Other then that, the jeep has been ok by me.

Spoke to my dealer this weekend who services the JKUR and he told me that the water pump problem related to one that was originally sourced from a vendor MOPAR is no longer using. Apparently, the internal seal in the pump will fail, which leads to the "wee, wee, wee" noise '12 and certain unlucky '13s are experiencing. Pump, I'm told is otherwise fine, but for the noise. Pump is back-ordered, but when it's available they will replace and I'm told the problem is then solved.

I had mine replaced by the dealer at 15,0000 on a 2012 JKU. They said it was defective. No problems since.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully the shop here has some....Dropping it off Friday night as I head out of town, hoping that it will either be done to pick up Monday morning or I hope I can convince them to give me a loaner...I have heard some horror stories about trying to get a loaner.

From the amount of people that I've read coming across the same issue, and the fact that they are no longer using the original water pump, how is this thing NOT A RECALL?
