2dr or 4dr
for $15k with that many miles, it better have some serious upgrades and/or be in immaculate condition.
I would definately snoop around and look for shoddy wiring, body damage, scrapes on the bottom.

I'm a big fan of the two door, mostly for the reasons already mentioned. I don't have friends, kids, or pets; just me and my wife.. so the two door rocks.
I was worried about space in the Jeep when I got it, but I truly don't miss it. Previous vehicles were a Dodge Magnum wagon and Chevy Avalanche.. so space was rather available. You find ways to work around space limitations. I've had all but the last 4-inches of a 10' surf board stuff inside a zipped up soft top. I regularly hang my dirtbike off the trailer hitch, and put our bicycles back there too.
Been trying to talk myself into a 4-door for the next Jeep.. but I keep going back to the 2-doors.

I would not be surprised if that JK sold at that price here in Mass. Jeeps here definitely hold their value.

As for the 2 or 4dr question most other folks already made good comments. It depends a lot on what you are expecting.
I got a JKU mostly because of my 5-years old son but would likely get the 4 doors anyway. I like long rides with off-road portions and I'm not into rock rock crawling. The 4dr gives you more comfortable long rides and let you pack more stuff if you plan long trips.
My suggestion is that you rent or just take both models for a ride and feel the difference for yourself. Cheers!
I've owned an 4DR Rubi with an auto and every option that stickered at over $40k. I've also owned a 2DR Sport with a stick and manual everything that I paid $20k for brand new. They are totally different vehicles, but both are a whole lot of fun. The Rubi on 37's was very capable and could go places that my 2DR can't, but the 2DR is more fun to drive. It really comes down to what you want it for and what do you want to spend. And real Jeeps have leaf springs, metal dash boards, and a machine gun mounted in the back.
This is 100% personal choice. You will hear arguments on both sides, both valid, but a lot of it also biased by personal preference. Realistically you need to look at the pros and cons of each, how you're going to be using it, and figure out what works best for you.
When I was looking at Jeeps I didn't even consider a 2 dr, for various reasons. I used to own a 2 dr explorer sport and HATED only having 2 doors. The storage in that vehicle was close to the same as the 4 door, but the fact I couldn't open the back doors and throw something in was just annoying to me. As far as use, I never plan to take my rid on serious rock crawling excursions or anything, more moderate trails for week long camping trips, so the extra cargo space of the 4 dr was logical. The other no brainer for me was the fact that I am married and have a young child.... 4 dr all the way.
Now, if I didn't do longer camping trips, was 20 and single, and wanted to be able to rock crawl over really hardcore trails, I would have looked harder at the 2 door. Realistically, even that situation I would have gone 4 dr, just because I hated my 2 dr explorer....
It's all personal preference.
