Been in muddy water?

If you have, and cleaned the radiator fins, but didn't remove the radiator to clean it thoroughly, you need to do so.

Otherwise, verify the temp is actually high with an infrared temp gun pointed at the base of the thermostat housing, between it and the temp sensor.

If the temp is actually high, I would suspect dirty radiator fins, low coolant level, stuck thermostat, to name a few things.

That happened to me. Radiator was so clogged with mud there was not enough air flow.
I let it cool down and cleaned it with a hose. No more problem.

If you been playing in the mud or muddy water and never clean your radiator, guess what.Been there and took many weeks to get it all out.Could be just a stuck thermostat too

I would look into the mud in the radiator first. If you have an A/C condenser in front of the radiator, you may have to remove it or the radiator to completely clean them.
