Default Are 35" tires too big?

Can the JK axles and driveshafts/CV joints handle the loads of 35 inch tires? It seems the prevailing wisdom for the TJ was that the driveline could handle 33" tires but 35's would push it to the limits of the design.

Are there any "manufacturer" recommendations for tire size in the owners manual or other documents? Are there any published warrenty limitiations for tire size or lift height?.

I think it would depend on the type of wheeling you do. If you just do easy to moderate trails, I would think the factory drive lines would be just fine. However, if you plan on playing on the rocks, you should definetly consider upgrading.

As far as tire recommendations go, I'm sure Jeep will tell you to not put on anything larger then the max size tire that the JK's come with which is of course a 32" tire. As far as "published" warranty limitations go, I certianly haven't heard of any but when it comes to warranties, you never know.

Default any modification

to the factory could void warranty , it says it in your warranty book. or use off road also. It will depend on your relation with the dealer id say . if your concerned on warranty which most are if your vehicle is under warranty id keep it simple 35s and lift would most likely be a flag that your use is for off road use at times . i dont lift mine and went with 33s and tire actual height is less than factory height . but , if they wanted to be jerks im sure they could find reason to deny work if they felt it was due to that reason

I have a 2012 Rubi, running 35's for the last 44,xxx miles, highway speeds around 75-85 mph, live in Colorado and wheel on a regular basis. No issues. And, highway potholes at 75 are far worse than any wheeling style unless you're racing the thing.

You'll be good. Lots of people running 35's on JK.

and on 37's.

I run 35's (toyos) wheel tire combo is ~102-105lbs depending on the tire I weigh lol. I have a 2014 jkur I checked caster when new and at 36000 it has not changed one iota. I am not hardcore like a lot of the guys but I do take it off road and in the last year I have taken it to Moab 2x, San juans and the Rubicon trail. Lots of wheeling in Montana and we go often altho not KOH type stuff but still stuff that requires 4lo and at least 33's.

Some important questions are missing here.

Rubicon? D30 up front? Gear ratio?
This will impact durability and drivability on 35" tires.

No matter what the answers are you will still want to gusset c's they are prone to bending.

Those bigger tires will wear your unit bearings stock tre's, and pall joints.

If you have a d30. Be easy on the skinny peddle.

my dealer told me as long as I don't lift it over 5" and go bigger than 35s, I'm good on warranty.

But that's my dealer, not all feel the same.
