Default 4 Hi grinding noise only when turning

I just had my tires rotated the other other day and tire shop had stripped one of my wheel studs. They gave me a shop to take it to in order to replace the wheel stud.

I wheel frequently and know how my JK should behave in 4 Hi or Low. Now when putting it in 4 Hi it sounds and feels fine when going straight but has a very loud grinding noise when I turn either direction.

Could they have done anything to cause this when replacing the stud?

If not, then any ideas ideas on where I should start to fix this?

BTW, it runs great and is fine in 2wd.

Cheers!

I just figured it out. Got someone to drive slowly while I was underneath. Drive shaft is broken at the joint near the transfer case. I guess I'll be able to get that better driveshaft I wanted now.

Thanks for trying to help.

I've got to get this thing to notify when responses are posted...Grrrrr!

Sorry, yep it was the driveshaft. Wasn't able to get one built in time for my wheelin' trip but found a used one for 75 bucks! Wheelin was great and life is good!

Well I'm glad that your drive shaft is the only thing broken after doing that.
