Take a close look at the collar on the cable where it hooks to the end of the transmission. There should be a plastic bushing holding it to the bracket. My buddy lost his last week and had the same floppy lever. I thought it would be the end bushing but his were fine, when he moved the lever the cable collar moved. Looked at mine and saw plastic lock bushing and realized what his problem was. Called Jeep dealer and part isn't on diagram, but is listed on parts list. Duct tape locked his cable in for the ice storm.
