I had the same problem. Just got it back from the dealer. They replaced the 1st gear syncro. I had to go to 2 dealers, the first dealer "could not duplicate the problem".

When I was shopping for my 2011 six speed manual I drove about 5 different Wranglers and all drove and shifted different. During my road test I checked fuel mileage, steering, and shifting on all the ones I drove...I bought the one that got the best mileage...steered good...and shifted smooth and solid.

Over the holidays my dealer did my '07 for the bulletin. This was at 100,000 KMs right at the end of the warranty. They did 1st and 2nd gear synchros. When they got it back together, 3rd was making noise, so they took it all apart again. This was all free, but while it was apart they recommended doing the clutch and pilot bearing, which cost me. They charged me fluids also.

It was OK when I got it back, but 2nd and reverse were tough to get into. Low and behold, 3 weeks later it started popping out of first AGAIN. It was in fact worse and popped out 6-12 times a day vs 1-3 a week the first time around. In all cases, it was bad enough that even my wife was noticing it.

I brought it back, and when they called the Tech Line, Chrysler recommended and authorized a new tranny.

There is a ton on info in this forum, just keep digging.

Keep at your dealer, they should be able to fix it.

My new tranny has not reproduced the issue (yet - knock on wood)

seems like i've seen some people mentioning that they switched to amsoil tranny fluid and fixed some hard shifting issues and maybe even popping out issues. good luck!

Had it done by my local dealer and now it doesn't pop out of 1st but it won't go into 2nd without a fight.
This may be a dumb question, but what is a TSB?
