I was at the dealer for something unrelated to this update and asked about it. They looked it up and said all 07's need to be reprogrammed. My receipt says G40 ABS software update.....

Dont't expect it anytime soon. I had 2 recalls done on the KJ, both of them were completed months before I recieved anything in the mail about it. One of them, I actually NEVER recieved a notice about the recall.....but it was completed.

I had the G40 recall done yesterday. Had the JK in the shop for an broken cruise control and they added the recall to the list.

Brought the JK in on Tuesday, when the recall was added to the Jeep website. I punched in VIN into the Jeep website and found the recall after I dropped off my JK that morning. The service advisor told me there isn't a recall "I checked when you dropped it off", but after bring it to his attention he checked again and sure enough... there's a recall.

So, recall done as part of the service visit. Don't know how long it took as the JK was already there.

I haven't received any notice either... but who needs a notice when we have the board?

Best of luck everyone in getting yours done!

I brought mine in yesterday because the muffler was rattling against the transmission. I figured out where it was rattling by letting my 6yr old rev the engine while I laid underneath the Jeep. Now I know there are those that will think I am crazy for doing so, but I showed her what not to touch and I laid all the way under it. That way when she touched what she wasn't supposed to, I wouldn't be run over.

But that's not what I'm here for - the dealer informed me of the recall while I was there, and they said it would take about 20 minutes for the flash to complete. Done - and no more rattle either.

I got my notice in the mail yesterday.
For what seems like a potential major issue, the wording of the letter is rather non-chalant about it.

me too. You know they don't really care what happens to us as long as no legal action is taken.

Brought mine in for the free oil change today, they did the brake recall fix, said it was the first one they have done, they just got the notice 2 days ago. They said they did remember me asking about it several weeks ago though anyway they did the fix.
