Adding a hard top
Maybe I lost track of something here.....question was about installing a hard top from scratch. No matter what make of soft top he had, ALL soft top hardware is removed including door surrounds.
All he needs to check is that he has the 2 large knobbed (don't go there) bolts that go through the sound bar / the (6) M6 thread tub bolts and the 2 bolts that go into the top of the B pillar.
Personally I wouldn't waste the time and money for the rear window toy box harness or dealer flash. Oh goody...something you just paid bags of money for to get what? A washer /wiper/defroster that you didn't need or have with the soft top. 100k miles on my hard top and I couldn't tell you if they work or not - don't need em.
As far as the tub and B pillar bolts go CoolTech has a complete easily removable kit at a reasonable price. Includes all (8) pieces if the hardware is missing from the top he's buying.
The Knobbed bolts are pretty much a dealer thing without taking a chance of punching a hole in the top.
