Alternatives to Plumber's Putty?
My Jeep sat through a couple of days of rain this past week. Yesterday I checked I the passenger side floor board and found it completely soaked.
I am not sure what part is the A Pillar. Is that the side of the windsheild? Do I need to remove the plastic cover to find the leak.
For those of you that took your Jeep back to the dealer, did they fix the leak? If so, how did they do it?

Yes. The side of the windshield frames and a-pillar are one in the same.
Here's a top view of the joint where the door surround meets the a-pillar. The plumber's putty is white.

I bought the foam repair kit and installed a few pieces from it today. Hopefully I won't have any leaks. We'll see.

Where did you buy a foam repair kit from? I will look at my Jeep today and see if I can see where the leak is coming from. It has been a four a five days since the last time the Jeep was out in the rain. I opened the windows and stuffed it in the garage a couple of days past and the carpet is till soaked.
Thanks,
John
Thanks,

I went out today to see if I could find the leak. I took off my two frount covers (T-top) and then bolted down the back of them before I clamped the front. I washed the Jeep to get all the trail dirt off. I could not find a leak. I pulled off the plastic and soft cover of the roll cage and they A pillar.
Went out to find a flat on my truck, so I had to drive 25 miles in the pouring down rain. Still no leak noted. When I got back to my garage, the carpet was still only damp from the last it got wet. I don't think I have a leak anymore.
I am wondering if it was just the way I had the top clamped down.
I have to drive it to work tomorrow as the truck still has a flat. It is suppose to rain. Will check it again after work.

John, I bought the foam repair kit from SteveWhiteParts.com. That's where I get all my parts. The part number is 68026937AB. It wasn't cheap, about $33 with shipping and handling. It seems to have done the job. We had a little rain last night and the Jeep was dry this morning. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed though.
Here's what the kit looks like. It comes with four of the L-shaped pieces, but I used two on my door surrounds so two are missing from the photo.

These L-shaped pieces go on the ends of the door surrounds where it meets the a-pillar. My door surrounds were COMPLETELY missing these, which is why I think I had a leak.

Oscar,
Thanks for the photos. However, they confused me more. Unfortunately, they decided that it shouldn't rain in Denver today and moved the rain out east.
I will have to wait to see.
However, as I said earlier, once I changed the way I put my hard covers on from back to front, I did not have a leak. I will continue to watch that area after each rain strom and see what happens.
Thanks for your help.
