Default noise coming from near shift lever

we installed a TF leveling kit on my wifes sahara about a month ago. i havent really driven her jeep since. today i noticed a decent amount of noise coming from the shift lever area that is not present on my rubicon. both are 6spds. she says that its made that noise since purchase. she has about 5k on it. its almost a clicking/ticking sound mixed with some rattling. any ideas? thanks

I have a similar noise from my 6 speed Jeep. I have not been able to track it down.

My inner shift boot is also installed correctly, and I have made sure that I have no heat shield rattles.

Mine is usually noisy at about 2k rpm and up while accelerating.

sounds about right. have you taken yours to the dealership yet? she called them and they quoted 92 bucks to look at it, and claims she told them its a new jeep still under warranty...

The dealership told me the classic "oh, that noise is normal". The dealer has not helped, but I am determined to track it down.

Don't know if it's what you are experiencing, but often the little cap with the shifting pattern on the knob will get just a little loose and make an annoying rattling sound.
A teeny tiny drop of superglue at the edge quiets it right up.

Default Check this

Not sure if this is it or not but I installed a CB and ran the cable through a grommet that is located directly under the shifter. After the install I forgot to put the grommet back in and when I went on a test ride, I could hear everything from underneath the vehicle. Once I put the grommet back in, the noise went away. You may want to check and see if your grommet is missing. Hope this helps.

X2... I had a rattling noise about a year ago and I took it to the dealership and they replaced the transmission under warranty even though I was past the mileage mark but the noise was still there and then I relalized it was just the shifter nob. luckily I didn't have to pay for the new transmission
