Default Antenna bend

How can I bend my antenna? Do you just take it off and bend it or do you need to heat to bend it? It doesnt seem like you can make it hold its form very well.

Thanks

This may be a stupid question...but why would you want to bend it? I accidentally bent mine before, just pure force does a nice job..ha

Not stupid at all, I have windshield lights that I want to get on it that I had on my 2010 jku. That Jeep had a 9 inch stubby however it killed my radio reception. The one I bought today has nav and sat radio so I dont want to put a stubby on so I was going to bend the antenna to go around the lights like at a bit of an angle. I saw a thread where someone had done this but I cant find it.

Two sets of pliers and do it while it's on. Rotating it back on after it is bent is a pita and risks scratching up the new lights.

On a side note if you want paint your antenna, take it off and paint it first. Then reinstall it and bend it. Learned that lesson the hard way.

Good luck

Just fyi neither the sat radio nor the gps use that antenna you're referring to. I'm pretty sure that's FM only...

Just install a shorty antenna and you have good reception and no cutting.
