You dont NEED a SS...
I ran without mine off and on the trail untill I peeled a LCA apart like a friggin banana- then I wished I had the SS to drive the ten miles home. I am going with hydro-ram, but if I wasnt I would probabl keep a SS in my stuff to reinstall after damage... sisnce I drive to and from the trail.

If your set up is good all steering components sound you don't need the SS except to help with the occasional bump steer. A SS tends to mask or hide dearth wobble until it fails...in the mean time other components are being damaged. Run it if you like but it's a good idea to occasionally run without it to see if you have any components failing. We did that for months after the 3x we had DW to determine all was fixed...

Somewhere in the owners manual it states," From time to time, whenever your "butt dyno" or infinite wisdom tells you to, remove your steering dampener to prove to your self that the part is just there to charge more for this Jeep".

NO. REALLY IT DOES! But only in the Jeeps that really come with PAPER OWNERS MANUALS!!! Mine came with a DVD-ROM so can't verify this. But we Jeepers like to quote shit we don't know anything about and we also know for a fact that the chassis dynamic engineers at Jeep don't know shit.

All this is a joke. So don't get all wadded up

question on this note. why when you install a lift kit do they upgrade the SS if it dont have much use? I am asking because this has been on my mind for some time. just the way its fitted seems like it dont assist with much
