Default Anybody know what this switch does?

The hood depresses it when closed. This is on the driver's side on a 2010 rubicon unlimited.

Alarm switch or remote start sensor (to detect faults or danger such as someone on The street opening the hood on An unattended jk with a remote actuated start.

thanks had a 2008 sahara unlimited and i didnt recall it having that switch.

Does your hood have a light? I'm too lazy to go outside and check, but all I can think of is something like a "refrigerator light" at the moment.

Yes i do have remote start. The first time i really noticed it i was upgrading my headlight bulbs and putting on my daystar hood wranglers. I jokingly told my wife it was to monitor hood flutter. You know instead of using stronger hood latches Jeep was attempting to determine the amount of hood flutter jeeps were experiencing. lol

That's the first thing i thought of but no hood light here. There is a small cutout on the underside of the hood where it looks like a light could be mounted.
