I really like the look of the half doors, but can not find them on a car on the lot.

I can not take the time to order, as it would seem like years.

So what did they cost you after the fact?

You are not going to see many "cars" with half doors anywhere.

as for cost, on a 4 door it's about $7K as you have to buy them piece by piece or find someone to trade you.

There are several options of bar (safari) doors and a few that are aftermarket half doors. Prices range from $250 to $1000 a set. Check out the various online stores to see what's out there, but there are many choices. The one thing you will not find as mentioned, are the OEM half doors unless you buy them from someone or happen to find a set on a totaled JK.

Not so. There is an original Mopar parts vendor out there that is selling factory doors for $2800 a pair complete, just need paint. Do a search:

He paid about 7000. for his and had to assemble them....

Jeepsareus has them for $2800 complete for each set. You still need to get them painted to match as they come flat black with or without mirrors.
