I doubt I ever will. I remember once I broke the seal on my '82 CJ7 I always had water leaks.

I have never dropped it on my jk and always wanted to but after hearing how much of a pain it is I probably won't do it now... me and a buddy use to drop his on his cj7 all the time and then we hit a huge mud hole and the windshield came up and back down only to shatter when it landed so then it just stayed down

I have never done it and don't plan on it. There was good video someone uploaded showing you how but it just looked like too big of a hassle. The guy in the video talked about how easy it was to chip paint.

I wouldn't do it. I dropped the windshield on my 89 and 94 YJ and wound up with the leak from hell on the 94. Used to short out my dash all the time. There is a cushion/seal at the base of the windshield that although I'm sure is better now, but still can be messed up. No way I'm dealing with those leaks again. So in my experience...leave it up. It looks better up anyway!

Default Drop the windshield.

I dropped mine the first week I got my '10 JK. I'll never do it again. Major PITA. Undoing all the hardware took the better part of an hour and when the windshield was finally down it looked goofy. It doesn't lay flat like the older jeeps.

No leaks after I reinstalled everything but once through that procedure was enough!

Would have to remove my lights too and I removed the hood bumps and handle. Ill take it down when the cage goes in.

I cut the windshield out of my 97 XJ after it got stolen and wrecked. Turned it in to a farm jeep.

I did. It was wasnt too bad folding it down but putting it back up was a PITA. Then I found out the hard way that the freedom panels didnt line up 100% the same after so I had to go back and loosen all the bolts and play with it.

I really wish they would have made it easier I loved driving with it down. It really gives you a open road motorcycle feel.

anyone take the windshield completely off permanently for use with a roll cage as a trail buggy? I bet removing it entirely looks better than folding it down.
