i have had this problem since i got my rig, dont know if its the silverstar lights i put, in it but at idle, i can barely see my lights flickering, barely noticable but anoying to me. Anyone else seen this?

And any idea how to fix it?

 

I using silverstars also, never had an issue with them...

 

x2 ... My stockers have done this practically since new. It is so subtle, the average person would never notice it, but mine do it. My fogs do not, just the regular headlights.

 

Do they do this with the radio turned off? It could be the audio sytem putting a drain on things if you have an amplified system or perhaps a weak ground.

Is it because they are on a pulsed electrical system so they are not getting a consistent power supply?

 

i noticed it when parked in front of a snowbank..im sure most people have this happen.

 

I hear that the silverstars burn out really quick. Anyone have that problem yet?

 

same problem here, but am not too surprised by it. Do the JK's run the power through the circuit on the turn-stalk like TJ's? One of the aftermark kits that powers the lights directly off the battery with its own relay should take care of this. I've heard great things about the IPF kits but have yet to research much for using on the JK. I'm sure there are a bevy of good threads about headlight upgrades.

 

Even if you run the power straight from the battery and just use the stock wiring to trigger a relay you will get pulsing (because you will not be getting a trigger that is always on) unless you use a diode to correct the pulse. The problem is that the JK uses a pulsed electrical connection so rather than sending a constant power supply through the line, it sends several higher voltage spikes. The only way to fix this is with a relay with a diode to smooth the flow of power.
