It is truely going to vary by dealership. Some are very mod friendly and others void warranties if you even look at a quadratec catalogue. Your best bet is to ask around and find a dealership that doesn't mind and go to them after you start your mods.

almost anything that deals with adding anything to ur engine (cams, super charger, maybe even performance chips). possibly adjusting ur stock suspension too. check the dealer.

ALso, the dealer is supposed to honor your warranty unless they can prove that your mod was the cause of the problem that you brought your jeep in for. (I know, it doesn't always work like that but it gives me hope)

I second the comment above... It's "supposed" to be anything that causes undue stress or is found to be the cause of a failure with your jeep.

IE: you run oversized tires, and you find you have the need for an early front-end alignment = no go.

or, conversely, you run oversized tires and your window crank breaks... That's covered.

Check with your dealership, there is a lot of variation on what dealerships will or won't cover. Some are mod friendly, most not so much.

Ok thanks that at least gives me a start point, but I don't think I will find a mod friendly dealer in lower NY, but I can hope!

Most stealerships will argue the point! Check the federal laws. I.E. The magnuson miss warranty act. Any part that is stock part. Federal law says they have to cover. This i learned in court. You might have to fight them on it but they have to fix it!!!. but yes a tuner , or supercharger will void your driverain warranty because you have. Modified the engine to perform outside of factory specs. I. E. More horses more broken shit! don't offer any informal you don't have to and take your tuner off before you take it in. And you should be good. Now if you purchased a warranty with these items installed already they should cover them. You get the point. Do your homework and of course don't be a dick to your service dept. Warranty work only pays half rate so its not in their best interest to cover anything they can get out of!!!!!!

I asked my dealership. They said they go by what Chrysler recommends on the issue of modifications... "Any modification or aftermarket component that is the direct result or cause of the failure of a Mopar part will void your warranty on those failed components." Not necessarily in those exact words, but that is the gist of it.

Why does everyone say that it depends on the dealership? No it doesn't.

Read.

Chrysler/Dealerships CANNOT void your warranty unless the aftermarket part you installed caused the defect. Even then they can only void the warranty on that specific part/system of the vehicle that is in question.

The dealer cannot void your warranty on a whim. If they do. Lawyer up.
