they one on the fuel sending line is not the same style as the return line thats blue and can be removed by hand. The sending line has a red clip that can be removed but I can not figure out how to disconnect the fitting...do I need a special tool?

Got it running again, on 12's the fitting is not the same as others. Pull the red safety u clip out then you have a second grey u clip on the other side you will need to remove before you can disconnect the line. Also to drain the tank with out dropping it pull the ASD relay ( not fuse ) turn the key to the on position and the fuel pump will pump all of the fuel from the tank ( run a hose from the disconnected fuel line to your fuel catch or you will get gas all over your jeep )
