Don't see anything wrong with it. Some people make a big deal about it but I do it sometimes or my wife does when driving her fusion. If the other person knows of the wave then one could assume that they own or have owned a jeep before.

I recently got an '03 Jetta TDI and use the Jeep for trips and adventures now. Feels a lot better driving it off road now without having to worry how I will get to work if something breaks. Just in fuel savings of driving the Jetta I pay it off in a year and half After that it is all pocket money!

When I drive the Volvo, I wave at jeeps, my wife laughs. So when someone in a non-jeep waves at me when I am in the jeep, I just chuckle, knowing they are afflicted with the same disease.

I can't say it's always been jeeps.. and there was a time when we had another vehicle.. One for the off road.. (jeep wrangler) and one for the road (2003 Corvette Z06) but the hurricane of 2004 took the Vette away from us..
