Default Armrest static!!! Anyone else?

The temperature has dropped from 70-80º to low 50s in a week or so here in the Chicagoland region. The one thing I have really noticed is that my right forearm hair is standing on end due to the armrest. Anyone else having this issue? I mean I am sure it is pretty common, but man is it annoying. It is really really strong, BUT it hasn't zapped me or anything yet. Anyone getting zapped?

yeah. I get zapped all the time. Not that big of a thing for me. They do make antistatic fluid though that you just wipe on. We use it at work for the large format copiers. If it is that big of a deal for you, maybe something like that would help.

Only had mine a couple of weeks, not so far. But sounds like fun, can't wait.

No static here but i have the manual wind up windows and old fashioned key entry. I'm sure that makes a difference

No it doesn't. Balloons aren't keyless entry and power windowed, and they have static. It is the plastic being used.
If it bothers you enough, cover it with fabric or buy one of the pads that are out there. I have the black neoprene and I really like it.

I knew somebody would take me seriously re: my manual windows and key entry Vs static.

Well Dr.McNinja;

"Static electricity refers to the accumulation of excess electric charge in a region with poor electrical conductivity (an insulator), such that the charge accumulation persists. The effects of static electricity are familiar to most people because we can see, feel and even hear the spark as the excess charge is neutralized when brought close to a large electrical conductor (for example a path to ground), or a region with an excess charge of the opposite polarity (positive or negative)."

Actually come to think of it when i insert my key into the jk i'm probably grounding myself with the vehicle.
