Yup, that was it! Ordered the slave yesterday, came into the dealership today. $80 which isn't too bad considering another dealership quoted me $122. Incidentally, I got a peek at the tech's monitor and the dealer cost is $35. F*ckers. Bolted it in, pumped the pedal, nothing but air. Then I remembered your post, and sure enough the fluid was below the baffle separating the clutch line. Btw, my brake res is tilted forward quite a bit. Is that normal? Anyway, put in so fluid and bingo, she's back on the road. Clutch catches very low though, I'm hoping a full bleed over the next few days will help. I'm also getting some weird whirring and squeaky sounds from underneath the shifter, but oh well. Thanks for the help!

The slave cylinder was likely on its way out and you finished it off by bumping it around when you dropped the transmission - didn't happen to me, but I was warned by a few folks to watch out for it.

Is there any reason you can't simply put in the new slave cylinder then follow the proper fill / bleed procedure and see if everything works as it should? At that point you'd find out whether you need to replace the master cylinder.

Also, before you start her up, pop the slave off and get a flashlight and mirror up into the bell housing hole to see where all of the oil went. The clutch is probably dry but it's worth a check.
Thanks! Yeah man, TFPITA for sure. I should've peeked into the bellhousing, but frankly even if the clutch was contaminated, there's nothing I can do at this point. Dropping everything out again is not an option at this time. For now the clutch is grabbing pretty good, so I just have to keep my fingers crossed.

I only took a couple pics of problem areas I had that weren't covered in this otherwise excellent write up:

I can post later if there's interest, and also if anybody needs some info/tips/advice hit me up. Pay it forward and all that. Thanks again all!
