Default Auto Transmission Problem

Had the JK rebuilt and new frame put on. Since then, I can take the Jeep out of park and into reverser or drive without pressing on the brake.

Anyone have this problem before or know what would cause that to happen?

Thank you for any info and/or advice on the issue.

The safety feature: brake transmission shift interlock must be somehow disconnected. Either physically (cable?) or electronically (unplugged wire?)

On the shifter, next to the overdrive button, there is a Shift lock manual override, that may be a good place to start looking around.

Thank you.. That will be where I look first.. Hopefully it will be simply as plugging in a wire...

Finally got to the jeep.. Tore apart the interior.. Found the wire and it was attached properly... Any other ideas what would cause this problem? Transmission can be moved out of park without depressing the brake pedal...

Did you check the manual override next to the OD button or the wires attached to the transmission? Who rebuilt the JK? Did you try asking them?
If it were me I would take off the paneling around the shifter and just take a look and see if there is anything obviously out of place or broken. Don't start digging around but you could definitely examine it.

Probably you should take it back to the people who rebuilt it, because it seems there are a few places the problem could be.

Although if was mine (with no kids) I would never fix it.

The garage that fixed it originally cause me a few other problems... I will most likely end up taking it somewhere else and paying just to avoid them screwing anything else up... I'm considering leaving alone also... Just being extra cautious hen my son is in there.
