Automatic Door Locks
The people I've talked to who LIKE this feature (as opposed to those who just can't see why I care...) like it because it "makes them feel safe," especially if they have to drive to a "bad part" of town.
I assume that they are referring to car-jackings, though I suppose it might also include failing to lock all the doors when they leave the car. (But, don't people with power locks just press the lock button when they get out anyway, even if only the driver's door is unlocked?)

I too found the seatbelt chime annoying back when I got my '06 Grand. And yes it can be disabled.
*Note* must be done within the first 60sec of turning on engine
1) Get in vechicle, while engine is off, fasten seat belt.
2) Turn inginition to accessory/run, wait for light to go out.
Tricky part
*Note* must be done within the first 60sec of turning on engine
3) fasten and unfasten the seatbelt in rapid session at least 3 times (i did 4) and end with the seat belt still fastened.
4) Turn of ignition, you should hear a single chime.
Congrats.
**Now**
as anyone figured out how to disable the door lock, I keep gettting out of mine, forgeting to unlock the doors, go to open the tailgate, only to realize it's locked :-(

that's some nice "programing" to get the seatbelt chime to quit......
you prob already tried something like that with the door locks DID'NT YOU.....LOL....I can see you now sitting in your driveway with the neighbor looking out his window watching you turn on your jeep toggle the lock button turn off your jeep and start over with a diff sequence, wondering what the hell your doing....LOL....

I'm in the camp of hating this feature. My Ford Expedition has this feature, and the owners manual details how to disable it. As you know, our Jeep manual does not offer such a solution.
You have to go the dealer. They will plug your JK into a hand-held computer that will display all possible features on your vehicle such as "auto-door-lock". I had them reprogram mine so when I open the driver's door to get out, it will unlock all other doors including the rear door. For me, this fixes my problem. I also believe that they can simply program it to do nothing.
If you do it soon enough after you have bought (and likely paid sticker price) your new JK, they will probably do it for free as they did mine.

Figured out the DIY method.
- shut the doors and turn the key from "off" to "on" (stop turning the key at the point just before the engine starts). Do this five times. On the fifth time the key should be in the "on" position, push up on the power door lock.
I'm pretty sure this is what I did. All I know is that now when I open the drivers door, all 4 doors unlock. Good luck. It would be nice if there was a chime telling you the code has changed. You won't know if it worked until you go for a drive.
