Default automatic transmission???

was wondering if anyone experienced this, scenerio almost everytime i pull into the garage put the thing in park and let go of the break i hear a click sound, just a single click like when you crack open a beer

i have seen no leaks, runs great no odd noise and feels fine just curious as to what it might be.....

My wifes van in the same scenario makes a noise but is more of a groan than a click!!! My noise is definately the brakes not the tranny!!! Maybe similar with your scenario??????

Some vehicles lock the shifter on the automatic transmission unless the brake pedal is depressed, so u can't shift out of park unless your foot is on the brake.

If you are stopped with the transmission in park and press and release the brake pedal you can hear the click which is the lock and unlock.

I don't know about the JK since i've been waiting 8 weeks for mine, but I drive a pathfinder that clicks pretty loud.

Its normal, forget about it. Also kind of whirring noise for a second is normal.

Mine does the same thing. It is the safety switch that keeps you from taking your tranny out of park unless the brake pedal is pressed down.
