Wooohooo!!!!

Transmission has been delivered.

Did a cursory look and man it is nice. Painted, sensors even that metal guide tube is on it (bummer because I will not be using it). If it functions as good as it looks, we're in business.

That was some seriously quick shipping. Ordered Monday, delivered to my house Thursday.

Again if it functions as good as it looks, then it was money well spent. I would not hesitate thus far to do business with High Impact again.

Some pictures as it looks coming from the company so that anyone contemplating the job and company can get an idea of what they would be getting.

OK, so this long weekend, more work continues.

I am going to try to fix the exhaust flages. I got the new flywheel, disc and pressure plate installed. That max mass flywheel is a beast.

For those working on anything that ends up with broken flange bolts on the crossover, the nuts are indeed pressed in. They can be pressed out. I used a ball joint tool to push these out. What a PITA....

More updates, the clutch, transmission and B&M shifter are installed.

The McLeod hydraulic throw out bearing was installed. The studs were taken from the old transmission and installed on the new, this allowed the block off plate to be installed. Here it is together:

I have to get the transfer case, transmission mount, exhaust crossover and cross member back in it. At that point the driveshafts will go back on.

I replaced the CV joint on the front drive shaft that had a torn boot, so that should help.

Right now focusing on getting the old transmission returned for the core charge.

I also ordered the Amsoil syncromesh and their ATF+4 for the transfer case. It should be here soon.

Will keep this thread posted

OK, success... well for the most part.

I think I may need to replace the transfer case switch as I cant get the plug to seat.

The transmission from High Altitude, flawless. No noise smooth and solid. I went with Amsoil Syncromesh in the transmission and Amsoil ATF+4 in the transfer case (2 quarts in each). I sent back my old transmission to get the core charge back, that should be this week

The McLeod clutch is real nice. Smooth and good engagement. The hydraulic throw out bearing works really well. I am glad I went with it. The pressure is easy and engagement is quick.

The B&M shifter... the throw is/seems shorter. It is stiffer and if you are not deliberate with your shifts you will learn to be. I like it and am glad I went with it as well.

The only code is a sway bar light (I will get the code number later). I believe this is due to the transfer case switch. I will be finding out soon enough when I order a new one. Before this with the wonky transmission, if you got on the accelerator it would cut out and go into limp mode. Torque signal denied. This has disappeared as I have tried to get it to do it again multiple times

Overall the combo work well and I am happy.

Next steps will be replacing the skids with a setup from Clayton. That should be interesting, but hopefully straight forward.

Transfer case switch sorted out, sway bar light is off.

Since it has been sitting I have a seized front brake caliper. Time to replace that... I really hate phenolic pistons.

Hopefully, that will be the last of things for a while and I can move on to other projects.

OK,

Almost a couple weeks of daily driving...

Everything has worked out very well. Transmission is smooth and the the clutch is outstanding.

The shifter was initially stiff, but has settled in very nicely. It is smooth but still has a positive engagement in sound and feel.

WooooHooooo!!!!! on to other projects with my Rubi.
