Note- my "20+mm" is just an indication that it's a large hex, I don't recall the exact size on it, but it is threaded as the picture just above shows.

Well Im headed back to Baja tonight and won't be back until sunday. So I will have to tackle this one when I get back from another trip. I will see if anything changes in the behavior by just moving the wiring around but its doubtful. I will try to unscrew that sensor and put it back in. I don't know if a socket has enough clearance to get up there but I doubt it has to be really torqued on. We shall see after I pull it and clean it.
