Default Battery Dead?

So, the Jeep will not start under it's own battery. I have to use a jumper box. There are no lights on on the dash and the battery checked out alright. I have it on the charger now to see if it takes a charge. I think the battery is junk. Thoughts?

Sounds like it, make sure the battery terminals are tight. Charge it and have the battery load tested at any parts store.

I checked the battery and it's supposedly OK. It starts about 5-10 times before the battery stops turning the starter. I don't think the alternator is bad. I would think the Battery light would come on. I'm hoping it's just the battery. My next thing is going to be putting a meter on the battery to see if there is any draw when it's off.

My stock battery just died Sunday. I had 9 volts before I started it and 7 when I tried to crank it. I have a 2007 so it was due to go. I put a Optima yellowtop in it because Autozone was closer than Sears. No further problems so far.
