The zipper was corroded and now I have a small gap. I'm trying to find a local place to fix it... would it be cheaper to replace?

The corroded part is in the red circle below - otherwise the top is OK.

I found a local upholstery that quoted me $100 to replace a zipper on my YJ soft top. I was waiting until I could throw a tarp over the jeep, since Id need to take in the whole top for the repair. I wish they made replaceable zipper teeth.

I had the same problem, but with both sides of the zipper. I just don't take the back window off any more, just roll it up and i don't have to deal with the corroded part. I am planning on buying the trektop NX next spring anyways. $100ish seemed way too steep to have someone fix it for me.

Mine is fraying much worse, but the zipper functionality is holding up ok. I had teeth jump track on me on the passenger side, up around the turn... It happened more than once. Ended up forcing them and no visible or functional harm was done.

I'm thinking -- your best bet to get by now may be to bring the passenger size zipper over to make those teeth comply. It may be a bit tough, like I mentioned above, it did work for me...
