I totally agree with above post. MT tires that are not siped like the stock rubies are like slicks on hard pack snow..slick and scary. However they perform very well in mud rocks trails ect.

My stock dealers were very good (for a original equipped tire from the factory) in slush, powered, hard packed snow....and the darn things still have a decent amount of tread with 90 000 kms!

Check around lots of folks selling the dealers as no one likes the 18" wheels....deals out there, or GY silent armour is a step up IMO

You say you found Goodyear Silent armor to be better?

Yeah I'm shocked you only got 30,000 miles out of of the duelers. My coworker got over 56K on his, he went with the silent armors next I think only because they were cheaper.

They're not gone and they would probably be fine for another 10,000 miles and if I didn't get snow they would probably go to 50,000 but I just want to err on the side of caution.

Cool Goodyear Silent Armor

The best AT tires I have ever used are Goodyear Silent Armor. There is not a close second. Check out evaluation sites.
Here is my personal opinion:
- Ice and Snow: The very best
- Rain: The very best
- Noise: They are not named "silent" for nothing
- Fire trails: Excellent
- Sand: When aired down, excellent
- Rocks: For small to moderate sized rocks. Not for rock climbing
- Mud: Poor performance in moderate to deep mud
- Tread wear: When I traded in my '08 JKU, the Silent Armor tires had 40K, with good tread left.
- Price: Not cheap. Look for sales.

This is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks!

Cool More on GY Silent Armor

I forgot to mention that they have two steel belts and one Kevlar belt. Pretty much bullet-proof.

I would like to lift and add bigger, more aggressive tires and have flirted with that option but being a college student now, I'd rather save for a quality lift and all the other necessities. I need an all season tire with good winter/snow performance. I have the 18" wheel since my JK is a Sahara. For now I'd like to stick with the stock size which i believe is 255/70R18. It's a 2008 2dr with 30,000 miles. What do you guys think?
I've been running Revo 2's for about three years now and have been very happy with them. I've had them in slush, snow, and ice and was really impressed. They are quiet on road and tread life has been great. If you're looking to keep stock size tires I highly recommend these.

I do not have them on my Jeep, but some of our work truck have them, and the guys that drive them say they are really good in the winter.

I'm tire shopping aswell, and everything I've read abou the GY SA points to a very good winter tire, on road and lite trail use....they all say not so good in mud (voids not so big). Another post here did a good summary, I agree.

If I had to replace my stock tires on the Sahara 18" wheel, these would be the tire I'd get no questions...
