wtf! for awhile my jeep (2011 rubi less then 1000 miles) has been smelling funky! yesterday i decicded to climb i pretty easy hill in 4 hi, i was giving it a good bit of throttle prolly sitting at 4k rpms and then all this black smoke started pouring out from under my hood i took it to my freind at the gas station and he told me to clean up the engine bay ( covered in mud) and then if it happens again take it to the dealer. what the fuuuck could have happened!

 

I looked at your post, and your profile. No indication what you have for a transmission.

If you have a stick, the smoke could have come from the clutch.

If you have an automatic, it could have overheated and spewed some fluid on the exhaust.

Other than that, something burned up under the hood.

Does the fan still run?
How about the accessory belt; still in good shape?

 

its a stick. we checked all the belts and they were fine.

 

How many belts do you have?
