Question Blinkers.

I have trouble getting the blinkers to stay on. It feels like they're on, but it doesn't go all the way into position so that it locks. Anybody else getting this?

Just in case you didn't already know, the JK blinkers have two positions in each direction.
If you just tap the stalk, you will get a three blink lane change only, if you push it further to the detent, it works like a normal blinker.

There is an entire thread on the pros and cons of this feature:

OK, I'm slow. I finally figured out how to invoke it. It's not as easy to do as my Magnum.

I love the bump blinker feature...takes a little getting used to. It messes me up though when I'm driving my wife's car. I actually have to push the lever 'til it clicks, and remember to shut it off when changing lanes. :whoaisme:

I test drove a new Rubicon the other day and it's blinker is very easy to invoke. Mine had 5485 miles on it and it's still hard to get it past the first detent. I got the service advisor to look at and I think I'm gonna let them replace it.

the blinkers on mine require more pressure to "lock" than anything else I have owned. The funny thing is, i JUST found out that the blinkers' momentary position automatically gives you the 3-blink with a quick flick....

man, that screwed me up.
I have a "company car", and the wife has her Tahoe, so the JK doesnt get driven a whole lot. I usually just press and hold through my lane change as i do with everything else I drive.... which i noted run 4-6 blinks.... it screwed me up. I thought it was hanging. i musta skipped that part in the manual. i got lost somewhere in the "lockers" and "swaybar" sections on my Rubi.

Ha ha! No kidding. The blinker section is not high on the list of owners manual sections to read about when getting a new Jeep. They should have a little hang tag on the blinker stock to let people know about how they work.
