Default Brake light issue

No brake lights. My third brake light works, signals work and hazards. Jeep said its not my brake switch ( actuates brake lights ) because the third is working. Possibly the wiper switch? Any truth to that or is he shooting in the dark? I dont want to send it in to jeep and have them hum and haw over it for 2 days. What you guys think?

There was a thread on this subject awhile back. If I remember correctly, the high mount lamp works from the brake pedal switch, tail light brake lights work differently. Will try and find it for you.

Check for and record any codes. Then disconnect the battery negative cable for a few minutes. The regular brake lights, (but not the 3rd light), are computer controlled. Disconnecting the battery may reset something in the computer.

The fact that the directionals and the hazards work verifies all connections from the bulb to the TIPM are good.

The regular brake lights are triggered from power on the 3rd brake light wire just after the brake light switch.
There are 2 more sets of contacts in the brake pedal switch. Either of those are also capable of telling the computer to turn on the regular brake lights.

Im thinking it may be something to do with my tuner. Weird and random things like this have been happening to 11+ jk's. My left turn signal sometimes engages when i click it to turn right....

Did you check for codes, then disconnect the battery negative cable for a few minutes, as suggested above?

The regular brake lights have no fuse. They are computer controlled.

Yes i checked for codes but only evap code which is related to my SC. Disconnected the battery after work but still nothing. Got rid of my evap code though.

About the only thing left then is put everything back to stock and remove the tuner. See if all goes back to normal.

Did this today. Still not working. I guess checking my controller is the only thing to do. Crazy, just outside my warranty too.
