Default Brakes

Good evening everyone. I need some help with my wife’s 2013 Wrangler Sahara Unlimited 4WD
ABS light and TC light came on randomly.
I can reverse without any issues.
After I put it into D, it goes about 5-10ft and then the brakes grab then release.
I changed the front/rear pads about 2 months ago and haven’t had any issues.
Sometimes letting off the gas and then getting back onto it releases and other than the lights being on, drives fine. Other times, it will grab.release.grab.release continuously until I stop completely, turn off the car, wait and turn back on, then it grabs just the once.
I just double checked the brakes and nothing is wrong. I pulled the J6 & J7 fuses and drove the car. It wouldn’t shift or show my speed, which I know is because 1 of the fuses turns off the wheel speed sensors.
I plugged the J6 back in and everything worked fine but the lights were on still (since one fuse is still unplugged)
i plugged the J7 back in, then it started doing it again.
J7 says ABS Valve Feed.... what is this and what can I look for to replace to repair this issue?

thank you in advance.

Sounds like a pinched wire to a brake sensor

Pinched wire isn't typical on these vehicles. More likely is that you've got a sensor going out and usually they'll throw codes though you may need a little more advanced scanner to see which sensor it is. I prefer to pull the rear sensors and clean them. It doesn't take much work and that may solve your issue if they're dirty. The front two are a little more involved to replace and while they're only $15-20, depending on mileage and tire size, I'd probably replace the wheel bearings which will come with new sensors for the front. You can keep the old sensors as spares and one day figure out which one was the issue.

So does the check engine light have to be on to throw a sensor code? Or Can it be scanned if the ABS and TC lights are on? I don’t have a check engine light on. I tore the rear brakes and checked sensors yesterday and all the fuses. Today I got to the rears, cleaned them and reinstalled them. I can drive the car with the J6 Fuse lulled and have my speedometer but it’s my wife’s car so I’d rather get everything buttoned up right. If i were the one driving it, I wouldn’t care but I gotta make sure it’s right for her.

No, I don't think the check engine light is required for a bad sensor, but you can have your traction control lights on and it'll drive funny. There will be a code stored but you'll need a deeper scanner to read it. Some have had good luck with a blue drive scanner, others use the Jscan app and Amazon obd2 dongle. If you know someone with a high end scanner then they should be able to pull it too. The more expensive alternative is a Superchips.

I've had this issue and it was a rear wheel speed sensor for my 08. I'd be able to get it to like 20ft and then it would just die on me. If pulling the fuses solves your problem I'd start there. You could use a code reader and see which side it is or just switch the new sensor until hopefully it goes away (parts roulette). Mine threw a code that the superchips read as a rear passenger wheel speed sensor. The rears are super easy and I did mine in a parking lot in Tijuana in 5 minutes last time. The fronts are a pain and you have to take the whole front wheel and brakes apart to change it out. Hopefully it isn't them.
