Default Buying a used 07 X model with the 4.10.

I am buying a used 07 Wrangler X with tow package. It has 60k on it, a few minor scrapes, some under the body. Everything seems ok but the upper and lower balljoints are a little loose. I want to take it to a sears and have them lift it to check it out....what should I be looking for? I've driven it about 50 miles and have tried everything that any monkey can check. I want to be sure I am not making a mistake. Any advice or tips is greatly appreciated.

If it is a manual trans, make sure it has 4.10s. They may have added the tow hitch afterwards and it could have 3.21s. All autos that year had 4.10s.

I have 4.10s, manual tranny and no hitch. Same year, 2007.

It's an automatic....I am like a cross eyed dyslexic monkey on a stick. It supposedly still has the 4.10.

Put it on a rack and check it's belly, see if the skid plates are scared up, diff cover dented or scared to see if it has been wheeled hard.

I would look at the bolts (they're everywhere on a wrangler) for markings from a wrench. I bought my wrangler certified pre owned with a clean car fax only to later notice chewed up bolts on my roll cage and passenger side. My jeep was wrecked (likely an offroad rollover) and was never reported to insurance before I got it. I wish I was this knowledgable before I made the purchase so I thought I would pass this information along. On mine, repainted hinge bolts (interior bolts inside the door jam) were chipped and flaking. Also bolts near my pinch seam were either marked or not even painted at all on my passenger side whereas my driver side has all perfect paint. Also my hood is slightly misaligned and windshield frame is from an entirely different model year. Now i love my jeep and its been totally problem free and wouldn't trade it for anything now but I likely overpaid as a result of the prior damage. Hope this helps. Good luck and welcome to the community.
