Caliper bolt fell out
Was changing my oil today and noticed the front passenger side lower caliper bolt was missing! I have no clue how long I was driving around like that. It must of just backed itself out, it did not shear, there was no stud left in there. Got a new bolt at Napa, simple fix, but wow that could have been bad!
I've saw online that this has happened to others as well. Throw this in the back of your mind to check these bolts from time to time. I got real lucky nothing bad happened. I drive 110 miles a day to and from work.

And the next part (if you don't want to sit through my post-trip video discussion) ...

Agree with getting from dealer as well. IDK if you wheel, but if you do it might be worth picking up an extra one for both front and rear due to what Mark mentioned above.....they're hard to locate. I had to find a front one up in Colorado a few years back....and want to say it was some stupid amount like $10/bolt.
Felt like I got bent over, but needed the bolt regardless.

Have you tried Fastenal? They had the bolt upgrade for the JK control arms.
Years ago I found a couple loose caliper bolts on my WJ while doing the brakes. I just didn't torque them down enough the last time I worked on it. 1st time this ever happened on any of my vehicles and has never happened again.

Do yourself a favor and get 'em from the dealer, they are really good bolts.

Those Fastenal grade 8's aren't such an upgrade either.
