Center console wont lock

Center console wont lock

Is there any way to adjust / tighten the handle on the center console? When I lock it and close it, I'm still able to press in just enough to where the console still opens.

Any ideas?

How old is your jeep? Mine was like that when I first got it.

Couple months later and Maybe due to heat and use it now works perfecty.

It's a 2008. I just bought it weekend before last.
The 2008 I traded in did not do this..

turn the key the other way, jk, try a metal bracket behind the cheap plastic

I don't need high security.. I would just like it to close and lock like it's supposed to. I know any thief can get into it regardless, just hoping if a kid or an idiot tries and can't open it they will leave it alone.
