Change Oil Indicator
This advice they gave you is stupid, idiotic, dumb, and not based on facts considering our jeeps have modern engines. Synthetic will not cause your engine to leak. You also can switch back and forth between conventional and synthetic any time you want with no concern. These are stupid myths carried over for decades.
When I bought my Jeep new , I asked if it was okay to run synthetic oil and they told me it was not a good idea on a new motor. They stated that synthetic oil doesn't swell up gaskets properly and I could end up with oil leaks. Now I have 60 thousand miles on my 2008 jkur , have never ran synthetic , and I have never leaked one drop of oil . I wonder how many people on this site that complain about leaks run synthetic ?
No don't use synthetic! Use the recycled garbage we sell you here at the dealer! LOL
Also I'm pretty sure the owners manual for my 08 says it can go 6000 for an oil change. I also try to check it every other fill up of the gas tank
My indicator came on for the first time at 3,500 miles on my 2012. But I changed my oil at 650M - 2,000M - 4,000M during the "break-in" and now at 4000 mile increments with Mobil 1 synthetic regardless of what the change oil indicator is telling me.

That would be turn the key to RUN, not start, and push the pedal to the floor slowly 3 times within 10 seconds.
