My indicator came on for the first time at 3,500 miles on my 2012. But I changed my oil at 650M - 2,000M - 4,000M during the "break-in" and now at 4000 mile increments with Mobil 1 synthetic regardless of what the change oil indicator is telling me.

Turn the key right before the startup then press and release the gas peddle fully three times then turn the key off, done.

I'm not sure if you can get rid of it but you can reset it after you do your oil change by turning the key to start and pumping the gas pedal 5 times.

That would be turn the key to RUN, not start, and push the pedal to the floor slowly 3 times within 10 seconds.
