I did my first oil change at 2500 because it was going to utah from cali for a week, the sensor came on the first time at 6500 miles and I changed it again.

the oil beep sucks i changed my oil every 3,000 and the beep would come on at 5,000. the way to reset it is to pump the gas 5 times with the car in the on position not running and on the fifth time holed it down for three seconds. then do it agian at 5,000 when it comes back on.

I have 76k miles on my 08 rubi. and without fail it chimes at 5.5k in the winter, and 2.5k in the summer. No other variables have ever changed this.

I'm glad that works for you. It's not how the manual describes it.
