Question stupid question

When I wash off the engine is there anything I need to cover and not get wet. Or can I just spray it off and not worry about it.

Considering how messed up it gets under there, I would say most things are pretty water resistant. I would not spray any wires or electrical stuff directly. I Simple Greened the dirty stuff and wiped what I could and then with a real weak stream, I rinsed things down. Be careful. I almost hosed into the air inlet (bad).

You would not want to use a pressure washer. Just some simple green and a spray hose should do the trick. No need to worry about getting anything wet.

I also avoid spraying around the air cleaner intake. A little water doesn't hurt, but spraying into it will leave moisture in the botom of the box.

Stick a rag in the airbox inlet, and just don't go crazy on water aiming directly at your fuse box and altenator, you'll be fine.

There's something under there that doesn't like getting wet. Mine stalled after running through about 8 inches of water and would not restart for about 30 minutes. It would turn over and sputter a bit but stall. We did run through the water fast enough for the top of the motor to get wet but there was no water in the air filter box. Not sure what got wet though.

Just remember to let the engine cool until its cool to the touch before you spray. Dont want to prematurly cause any manifold cracking, it will come on its own with time!

Plug the airbox and spray away with the pressure washer. That's what I did. Just keep a decent distance. You want to knock the dirt off the engine... not the wiring.
