Default Check engine light

A few weeks ago, I took my 2012 JKU into the dealer for a CEL. I had some other issues as well ( radio would turn off, then back on, blower for ac/ heater would stop then restart after a few seconds and the wipers randomly turn on while driving). TIPM replaced, blower fan replaced. Good as new.... Until this morning. Driving into work, CEL came on. The only thing I have done to mod the Jeep is put Trucklite's in. Any thoughts? Haven't checked to see if a code is being thrown, but has anyone else had this type of issue?

At this point don't connect the two. Read the code and find out what it says. You'll probably find something unrelated to the TIPM problem. You may even try clearing it and see if it stays away (some do, some don't).

How long does it take the code to flash on the odometer using the on/ off 3x cycle of the ignition? Just tried it and nothing. Maybe I am being too impatient and need to wait more than a few seconds.

Don't know. I have a code reader, and my Torque Pro on my Nexus 7 verbally reports all codes in clear text to me. Might just take it to auto parts store. Most pet you read codes for free.

At the dealership now. Waiting on code(s) to see what the issue is. And the dealership coffee is horrible... I'll update as soon as I get the info.

Code was B1637 - RIGHT HI BEAM CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW. Dealer said there are about 10 things listed under that code, all related to the TIPM. Going to replace TIPM again.

Doh. At least you're under warranty. That is not a cheap part.

Yeah, that's what the dealer said. He also said that he went through about 6 or 7 of them in another JK until they got one that was "good".

Your Trucklites are headlights, right? If so, I would suspect something is going on with those.

I wonder if the dealers take the time to troubleshoot circuits like the service manual directs them to.

Below is from the 2012 factory service manual.

B1637-RIGHT HIGH BEAM CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW

Theory of Operation

The Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) receives a bus message requesting high beam lamp illumination. When this bus message is received, the TIPM provides a voltage output through the high beam driver circuit. The high beam driver circuit connects to the High Beam Lamp. A headlamp return signal circuit is used instead of a ground circuit.

  • When Monitored: With the high beam headlamps active.
  • Set Condition: When the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) detects a low condition on the (L34) Right High Beam Driver circuit.

Possible Causes

(L34) RIGHT HIGH BEAM DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND

(L34) RIGHT HIGH BEAM DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORTED TO THE (L910) RIGHT HEADLAMP RETURN SIGNAL CIRCUIT

RIGHT HIGH BEAM BULB

TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE

Yes, the Trucklites are headlights. This issue happened before I installed the new headlighs too. I didn't get the lights until Christmas, first issue happened around October/ Novemeber timeframe (don't remember exact date without the paperwork). And that still doesn't address the issue with the wipers and blower turning on/ off at random. I need to look up the code to see exactly what falls under that and see if there is a connetion between everything going on. Other forums have linked the wipers/ radio/ blower and a few other issues with the TIPM. I have not seen anything relating the headlights to the CEL and the code I am geting, on any other forums. I know that doesn't mean it's not happening, but I just haven't seen it.
