I have clock spring currently on back order estimated to be in around 24th September, my cruise control went out on my way home after Memorial Day at Rousch Creek, I pulled the steering wheel and replaced the cruise control switch which did not fix my problem so next item was the clock spring, after looking at price decided to use the warranty to have it replaced. I’m hoping this is my problem with cruise…definitely miss cruise on the highway! Clock spring was ordered frost week of August..

My 2008 had the clockspring recall done a long time ago. Cruise stopped working and all scans say Cruise Switch which I do not believe. Has anyone had the recall clock spring go sideways? If so I will replace. But first I will pull the wheel, disconnect the switch and ring the wires through to the Jeep ECU.

The blue driver is on sale today on Amazon for $99. Regularly $119. Not a huge savings but I figured I would let people know. Just ordered mine.

Unless you need a scanner for various vehicles, I just don't think that beats out Jscan for much less money. I have both and for the jeep I reach for Jscan every time. I do pull out the BlueDriver for other vehicles though.

Well you may be right. I did want it for other vehicles since I am shopping right now 😉

But at first impressions I ain't impressed lol I figured maybe it could help me solve my CAT problem before I get too deep into it but this Smog Check feature doesn't seem to be fully reading my system. I think it's because I just reset my codes. I may have to drive 50 miles.

What else should I check out on this? Any features you thought were super nice?

I would also get the Jscan. I wanted to keep something in my JK for other random vehicles in Baja. Step 1 is usually reading the trouble code to point you in the correct direction or at least clear codes too. My girlfriend has a Chevy.

Default Clock Spring

My clockspring that was on 2 month back order came in this week, it is scheduled to be replaced under warranty Monday morning by dealership. Hoping this fixes my non-working cruise control issue.

Thumbs up Clock spring & cruise control

My problem has been fixed under warranty and replacement of clock spring(recall). I had doubts that clock spring would fix but this was my problem. Started as an intermittent activation of cruise control whereas it would work sometimes and not others until it finally quit and occasionally my wipers would not turn off unless I double toggled the switch arm (cruise control and windshield wipers use different switches in 08). Had the code for the cruise control switch so I replaced that, when that didn’t fix my problem I decided to see if the dealership would replace the clock spring under warranty, they said they would and just took my word for it and ordered/replaced the part.
