Check your VIN at jeep.com and see if you're part of the recall.

It is easy to DIY also. Check youtube.

Yep. My 2007's came on past 200,000 miles and they replaced it as part of the recall--no charge.

From your profile, you have a 2012. There is a recall for the 2007-2010 and an extended warranty for the 2011+ models.

The difference with the warranty is that you have to have a clockspring that is failing AND the dealer has to determine the clockspring has failed. If this is true, then they replace it for free. This is what they did for my 2011.

With the recall, they replace the clockspring regardless of failure or not.

Head to your favorite dealer and inquire about the extended warranty.

My VIN was never on the website either but they've replaced my clock spring twice. Call your dealer. I'd bet they'll at least check it out for you.

I had my clock spring replaced over the summer under warranty.
There is also an extended warranty on the front brake lines & wheel sensors too. Be sure to check for that one too. My dealer had no idea until I suggested they look it up.
