I have the same issue with my 07 JK Unlimited! It's an auto trans and shifting out of 1st into 2nd it will SOMETIMES give that Clunk! Now "b14400" has got me worried that my suspension is going to collapse under me!!! haha (I will definitely be crawling under my JK when I get home from work tonite!)

Eliminate the gate issue first. Try driving slowly with the gate open. If there is no noise, you found it! To fix the gate issue, there is a small slide where the gate rests when closed. Adjust it upwards by loosening the two bolts, and try closing it easily at first.

Just a suggestion, as I had a very similar issue I delt with this week, all warranty!!!

08 Sahara, auto, bone stock with the Limited Slip Diff.

Drive away slowly clicking noise from rear end. Problem ended up being the rear diff clutches not holding.

Keep it in mind, and question the dealer on it next time.

Wondering if there was a bad run on the LSD and they are now showing their faults??

Good luck!
