Default Cold engine surge?

Ok...on a couple of occasions during initial start up the engine would surge a few times during idle with the engine cold. It was almost as though it was trying not to stall. This morning it happened again. three surges then the engine idle levels off and all is normal again.
I have been experiencing occasional slight rough idle at stop lights, especially if the engine hasn't reached operating temperature.
Has anyone experienced either of the above conditions? The engine surges are particularly puzzling to me.

Haven't noticed it with mine, but I know others have complained about the idle issues (maybe a connection?). You might want to scan the TSBs and see if there's anything related to it.

I'm wondering if its a gas issue? It happened once with a BMW I used to own. It was particular with where i purchased fuel and octane levels.

I experience that exact thing...

When i start the jeep in the morning, I usually let it idle for about a minute before putting it in gear And when i try to give it gas in drive, It hesitates once slightly, Then goes away until the next cold engine cycle.

I have had a few problems with the ETC/ESP lights coming on before, And the dealer replaced the throttlebody under warranty... But the slight surge is still there when cold.
