Not trying to be a smart ass but I just replaced my first windshield at 127000 miles but then I don't tailgate and catch a lot of crap off of the vehicles in front of me either.

I have 67,000 on my 2012. My windshield does even have the slightest chip. I guess we are the lucky ones.

Mine broke within the first year, replaced the glass with the cheapest safety glass windshield I could find for less than $200. It's lasted 3 winters with plenty of rocks but no chips. That said, it will probably break today.

You are probably right. Mine has a few minor chips. Roads around the Columbia, SC area are crap. Merry Christmas!!

On my 3rd as well in the last 3 years. Already have a small chip too. Now keep at least 100 ft from dump trucks, garbage trucks, etc or just switch lanes as quickly as possible. Only way to try and keep this one a bit longer :(

I have one rock chip, which I repaired. I have found that keeping a good distance from the vehicle in front works wonders too as we tend to road trip in our Jeep to AZ, UT, and CO to wheel.

I'm on shield 3, Not tailgating or being ass on the roads. The crap they use on the roads here and heavy trucks on some of our backroads for hauling woods traveling the other way do ours in, in short order. its 80 percent vehicles traveling in the opposite direction, and 20 percent people passing you on shitty winter highways.

Default Windshield...

Original windshield...chipped, cracked & crappy. Will eventually replace but also, it ain't just a Jeep thing. Living in Anchorage, you just get used to flying gravel and stuff. It is a way of life here and you DON'T need to be tailgating to be a victim...Every other car has a screwed up windshield...

I grew up in Anchorage. Owned four cars there before I left. Never had so much as a rock chip on any of them. Back then, there were a lot more roads and streets that were gravel, and not paved like they are today.

Perception. The art of looking at a construction vehicle on the road. He hasn't cleaned off his wheels and undercarriage because he has to GET ER DONE. F the vehicles that get damage from rocks.
