Default Cracked Windshield Again

I'm on my second road trip and again my windshield is cracked by flying rocks, is it a Jeep Wrangler thing? Not to mention 3 other nicks in the glass. Anything I can do to help prevent this?

It is a Wrangler thing due to the upright windshield. Not really much you can do about it. Windshield coverage is about the best answer.

You know you would think that the folks make those heavy duty screen protectors for cell phones. Would come up with some kind of windshield protectors for jeep. They could make a killing selling those to jeepers.

There is some kind of clear chip protector that a friend who owns a tinting shop said had possibilities. But never heard anything further about that. My concern would be damage from using wipers to scrape away road muck. Glass is reasonably durable compared to most plastics. I read the Ford GT will have a Gorilla Glass windshield. But it is still sandwiched between two conventional plates to provide better shatter performance. And that's a $400K car.

The crack repair can help extend the life by reducing the chance of the crack growing. I did this to a TJ with some pretty bad chips. Did not grow at all over a 3yr period.

They can engineer cars to parallel park themselves but not a windshield that won't crack from a flying pebble... Incredible.

I'm on my 3rd windshield as well, it's a jeep thing as previously stated because of the angle (or lack there of). My first replacement safelite specifically asked if I wanted the OEM glass with the decals, of course I did! When I picked up the jeep it didn't have the decals, I wasn't pleased. 6 months later that one cracked and I made damn sure the next one had the decals.
