Default C's

how soft/weak are the C's on the D44? I'm putting in a 4" lift with 37's and I know it is smart to put in gussets (I had them on my last jeep), but wondering how quick might they bend if I don't do the C's right now? I'm trying to save a few bucks, but if they can go quickly then it isn't really saving me anything. really just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on just delaying with installing them?
Thanks

Honestly I am running 38's with no c gussets. I think its a total waste of time and money unless you Baja through trails and desert and if you do that your rear semi float 44 will not last. Just my 2 cents.

$100 parts & install is cheap insurance IMO.

X2. 37's will put a ton of leverage on those C's.

I'm gonna jump on this band wagon. There's no guarantee that you'll need the gussets, two identically built rigs could run the same lines on the same trails and one bends but other doesn't...just the way things go.

For about $100 it's VERY cheap insurance against damaging an axle. I also recommend doing it before rather then after.

^X3. I'd rather over-build than bend them and have 5X the cost to fix it. Hell, I installed gussets even before I put my 33's on!

It would be nice if it was just 100. That is just for parts. If it was just 100 then I would do it without question and wouldn't have bothered asking. I'm looking at 4-500 for install alone. I figure I might as well do ball joints since I have to pull those out too. It isn't something that I have to do, but why pay for the work twice? So, if I could avoid the cost right now, that would be ideal.

You do not have to pull your ball joints. Have them alternate welds from one side to another welding no more than a inch at a time. Let cool between welds. Very simple.
