Default Curious How many of you have engine knock

I was wondering how many of you guys have real engine Pinging and or Knocking.
I was at the dealer a few weeks ago and they heard it loud and clear and they confirmed it was engine knock.
But they could not do anything about it,because there is no flash update for the engine module until they get enough complaints, then Chrysler will have to step it up.What kind of crap is that
In the mean time they asked me to put some 93 octane.I did it did not knock that bad,I just put in 87 again after 50 KM'S there is the knock again.

Sorry, i'm mobile right now. Can you add what year your JK is and your location? Elevation? But no, no engine knock in my '07 always on 87 octane. Any chance your running a CAI? Exhaust? Chip or programmer?

I fully agree. What were the chrysler engineers thinking? They could have easily chosen an engine with a little more power. Im not asking that they should have put hemis in them, but they could have put in the h.o. 3.5 or something. We got stuck with a barely adequate v6 with an auto tranny that overheats at the mere sight of an offroad trail. How could a vehicle be "Trail Rated" when its the very " trail" that causes many auto trannys to overheat? I know that if you drive it a certain way, it stays cooler. But as a chrysler engineer, i would have not settled for anything less than, works great in all transfer case ranges, at all speeds, and in all gears. Lastly, what loser test drove the original JK, and said, " man this is a great engine, wow! Its so fitting to this vehicle!". Its like putting one single engine on a 747 and saying " if you run it at max power and give her hell,, it will suffice"
come on chrysler!
