Dash Warning Lights
there should not be any real problems with driving with the lights on, yes the systems are not on but you really dont need them and might really enjoy drving the jeep better without these systems on. Mine were on due to a bad wheel speed sensor. I drove it that way for at least 8 mo. with no problems. After getting the wheel speed sensor fixed the jeep felt crazy with all those systems affecting the feel and the way the jeep handled. I wanted all the stuff back off so I installed a ESP kill switch and I havent turned the stuff back on sense.
I just installed 37" on mine and when i started it up to leave the same lights are on. My guess is a wheel sensor was broke during the tire swap. It is throwing U1418 engine code "right wheel implausible distance", i think thats how its worded. Threw the code but had no check engine light. That wheel sensor is used for ABS, traction control, and stability program so it makes since to me. But my questions is will it keep the BLDS from working correctly? I have an X. My guess is yes.
Hey, Thejmack - did you ever figure this out? Mine started doing the same thing a few day's ago. The 3 lights come on and a tone sounds - they sometimes go off after about 20 minutes, stay off for a while and come on again later. I'm stumped as well.
Probably not the same problem, unless it was coincidence it happened when you changed wheels around.
But I had the exact same lights on the dash. The ABS still worked (and the ABS light was not on), but BAS and traction control did not. It turns out there are two brake switches, and one of mine was sticking. It threw a code that told the dealer exactly the problem. I did not see where the switch was they replaced, somewhere up by the master cylinder I imagine. It was a $17 part.
And ya, sometimes the lights would go out because the sticking switch would work. Then it wouldn't.

I had this just happen today. I just had my rig regeared so tires were off similar to others here and those same lights are on my dash now. Checked the wires to the sensors and they look intact. I did the ESP off dance and that didn't do anything to remove lights. I'll try using my Superchpips to clear the lights and if that doesnt do it, I guess off to the dealer I go.
Using my Superchips diagnostic feature it read two DTC codes. "C102A - left wheel speed comparative performance, C1035 - right wheel speed comparative performance". I wonder if the new gear ratio is throwing this "wheel speed" code. Anyway I cleared it with the Superchips. Hope it stays cleared.
